The dinner table lately has been comedy hour...and not to mommy and daddy's pleasure.
These two little boys just find entertainment with every glance at each other. It doesn't really make for a fun meal for us.
BUT...
Yesterday, we had family dinner for Father's Day...there were 10 of us.
My boys were perfect angels. This was really the first time that they have sat at the "grown-up" table. What amazed me most was their impeccable manners, they ate everything that was put in front of them (no requests for something "different") and they were engaged in the conversation! Most of the time, they were listeners, but their responses to conversation were so appropriate. Nodding their heads, laughing when correct and no interrupting.
It is such a joy to watch them grow and mature. We were so proud of them.
Impressive! I've rarely sat at a table with 10 ADULTS who manage to have mature, appropriate conversation the whole time (let alone no special food requests!) You're doing a great job with your guys.
