The conversation went as follows.
ME: Jacob, do you think you can vacuum your room today?
JACOB: For real? By myself? With the vacuum?
ME: Yes, son. Really. It would save me a bit of time.
JACOB: SWEET!!! (Pause in the action while he gets the vacuum ready.) Mom, this thing really sucks!
I should have known that my child who LOVES to scrub toilets, would also love to use the vacuum.
Meanwhile, my other two boys couldn't resist the opportunity to get outside in the 50 degrees and wash the cars!
After a long run with the dog, chores done, meatloaf scarfed down, we settled into a family pallet on the family room floor to watch The Incredibles. Needless to say, Jesse beat all of us there and scoped out her spot first! Smart dog!
