Who loves his brother and is rarely far from him.
(Of course, they fight! Don't be fooled, but more times than not, he looks to his brother for "cues") And is always more comfortable with Jacob around.

But to those close to him, know he has a very serious side.
Quiet, thoughtful and did I mention quiet?

Anything daddy likes to do...he likes to do too.
He might not always be naturally good at it, but is always willing to listen,
practice and try to improve.
Who, only to those close to him, do they get to see his wacky sense of humor. The kid can make us laugh to the point of tears.

He is and always will be my baby. This child came out of the womb screaming. He spent most of his first two years either crying or laughing. There really was no middle ground with him. But he did mellow out around age 3. I see in him now such a mild mannered boy. He is kind, compassionate and inquisitive. He saves the extreme happiness and extreme anger for me. I'm ok with that. He loves to wake up on Saturday mornings and snuggle with me, watch the food network and drink hot cocoa until everyone else gets up. He goes to bed at 8 on the dot (by his choice) and is up around 7. He would rather be outside, than stuck inside. He loves music. He loves sports. He loves the outdoors. He HATES running! He loves his dog. He loves his family and we just feel so fortunate to be his parents.
Happy 9th Birthday to our Nicholas Reese Carpenter.
