The Snow Village

The Snow Village has moved...
And there are some seriously happy boys because of that. You see, for as long as the boys can remember Nik & Nana have had the village. It finds itself ALL OVER Nana's house during the holidays. It is, in fact, an on-going joke between my dad and Michael who is going to end up with all of these some year. Well, my dad's dream came true early. Jacob has begged to have the Snow Village at our house and he finally got his way. (Which means, that my sister will never have to worry about having these willed to her and they are officially out of my dad's garage!) Yes, they have moved to the Carpenter house.

We let the boys be in charge of all the set up & design. Jacob is very particular about where things go. He "tried" to let Nicholas use some of his creative juices, but usually Nicholas just did what Jacob wanted and everyone was happy.

Jesse was our steadfast cheerleader, making sure to check out each box, each tree and each piece of village. She loves to be a part of the action.

Nik watched football and reveled in the fact that the Snow Village had moved.

This is one area where Jacob has incredible patience. He is very detail oriented anyway, so this is right up his alley. We even made them be in charge of taking all the pictures this year.

Nicholas took the carpenter route and built the mountain for the backdrop.

And here is their finished product.

There are a few more houses that have gone up in other rooms, but we haven't gotten the camera out for those. Jacob commented to me that night as we sat and enjoyed the night lights that he wants to propose to his wife on Christmas because it is so pretty. What a little romantic. I think it is no coincidence that he feels this way...we got married on December 22nd and it is always the best gift of Christmas.
We (Nik, Nana, Michael and I) are so proud of the job they did getting these up. They are very responsible and careful when they play with it. You can find them laying in front of it almost every night....

  1. That is one of the cutest stories I have heard in awhile. How fun! It looks great and makes me want to get out all my Christmas decorations (the few that I have anyway) and start decorating!
